1.(12) Citizenship. The student understands characteristics of good citizenship as exemplified by historical figures and other individuals. The student is expected to: (B) identify historical figures and other individuals who have exemplified good citizenship such as Benjamin Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.
Objective: You will learn about Eleanor Roosevelt and what made her an important historical citizen of our country and how she was an example of good citizenship.
Materials needed: Ipad, pencil, paper, color pencils
Task
Warm- up Task:
Take a minute and talk to the person next to you about what are some of the characteristics of good citizenship. Some of you might know a little information about Eleanor Roosevelt and it is a good chance to share it with your peers.
Questions that can be asked:
- What are some characteristics of good citizenship?
- Who was Eleanor Roosevelt?
- What could have made Eleanor Roosevelt a good citizen?
- What did she do?
Process
Activity #1: Video and Answer Questions
You will be working with the person sitting next to you. You will watch this really fun video about Eleanor Roosevelt and find out the answers to the questions we asked during the warm up! Please write the answers to the questions on a piece of paper with a pencil. (Don't forget to write your name and your partner's name at the top please.)

Activity #3: Draw Eleanor
This is a great way to show me what you think about Eleanor Roosevelt! Draw and color a picture of Eleanor showing one of the characteristics of good citizenship.
