Ecosystem

Introduction

An ecosystem is a geographic area where plants, animals, and other organisms, as well as weather and landscape, work together to form a bubble of life. Ecosystems contain biotic or living, parts, as well as abiotic factors, or nonliving parts. Biotic factors include plants, animals, and other organisms.

Their are the some example of is  a swamp, a prairie, an ocean, and a forest are examples of ecosystems. An ecosystem usually contains many different kinds of life. A grassland, for example, is an ecosystem that contains more than just grass. It includes other plants, mammals, insects, earthworms, and many tiny living things in the soil.

Task

Chose and fill out the four categories on an organizer I will give to you.

1. What type of plants are found in this ecosystem?

2. What type of animal are found in this ecosystem and how do they fit into the food web?

  •  You may either create your own food web or find one to print off but be able to explain the whole food web.
  • Show one food chain found within the food web.

3. What does the landscape look like?

  • It is Sandy,!rocky!hilly!flat!wet! Mountainous!color in where your ecosystem is found in the map (I will have the maps available for you).

4. What is the climate like in this ecosystem?

  • Is it hot? Cold? Rainy? Dry? Give specific you may either work with your team and split the roles evenly, or your may work alone 
Process

Follow these step to complete the project. 

1. Get into group of 3 or if you would prefer you may work alone.

2. Select one of the ecosystem.

(everyone we  will get different one)

3. Grab the graphic organizer and map from my desk.

4. Begin researching your ecosystem. Each person needs to fill out their own graphic organizer and can share the map.

5. That is your chance to get creative. Add a picture or two to each box. But make sure everything can be ready clearly and that is neat. This is important.
