The Earth's layers are mainly divided into three layers, each with different characteristics:

1. Crust: This is the outermost layer on which we live. Its thickness is relatively thin (from about 5 to 70 km). It is divided into two types:

Continental crust (which contains the land)

Oceanic crust (under the seas and oceans)

2. Mantle: This is the largest layer of the Earth, extending to a depth of about 2900 km. It is composed of semi-molten rock and moves slowly. This movement causes phenomena such as earthquakes and volcanoes.

3. Core: This is the deepest layer and is divided into two types:

Outer core: Liquid and composed mainly of iron and nickel

Inner core: Solid despite its extremely high temperature due to the immense pressure
