Have you ever observed the beauty of out Earth? It keeps us alive and provides everything we need to survive. This is why today we are starting the Earth month. We are going to explore all the Earth's needs and learn how to keep it healthy for as long as we can.

It is high time we ceased taking the Earth for granted!

In this webquest we will go on a 'journey around the world', we will learn how to change our bad habits which are hamful for the environment, what to do to save energy, and many more.

- Introduction to the topic

Students have to watch it carefully and answer some questions

- The teacher divides the class into two groups of students – for and against. They search for good argumentation for the further

discussion. Later, they debate using new words. Individual students talk about pollution in their hometowns. (auditory)

Task 2

Collecting used phones

As known, our smartphones pollute the air and water with heavy metals. Only 20% are recycled. That’s why we are collecting used smartphones to help our environment.

-The students are asked to prepare posters that suggest changes in environmental protection.

Task 4:

 

Students are to perform a group presentation during an Earth event at school. The presentation takes place in front of all students from the school.

- students work in 2 groups consisting of 8 people each

- they reasearch and prepare their presentation

- topic 1: What will happen if we do not take care of the Earth ?

- topic 2: How we can save our planet on a daily basis?

Task 5:

Write a letter make tomorrow better

As part of Earth Month we have decided to engage the school in a letter writing campaign for life on Earth, which is hoping to protect 50% of the Earth’s surface. The objective of these letters is to inspire our leaders to make the changes necessary because remember time is ticking. We have less than a year until the United Nations nature talks, many large cities are facing a water day zero, the ozone layer is damaged almost beyond repair and over a million species are faced with extinction. It is up to you to determine whether these talks become a lifeline that could potentially save life as we know it or a wasted opportunity.

-Students are asked to work in groups of 4 students

-They have to address  letters for the Secretary of United Nations about their projects

-After completing the task school will be sending the letters
