Introduction
Let's Practice with our beginning sounds.
Task
You can apply phonics to real-world applications in several ways. Phonics helps you decode and understand words to help you to read books, signs, menus, labels, and other written materials that you encounter in your daily lives.
In this activity, you will match the initial letter to the word and cross-check with the picture.
Process
1. Look at the initial sound then say each letter sound (there are two initial sounds to choose from).
2. Look at the word next to the picture and sound out each word (without the initial sound)
3. Add one of the initial sounds to the word to see if you recognize the word.
4. Crosscheck your answer with the picture then sound out the word to see if the initial sound matches what you are saying.
Evaluation

Exceeding- Student is consistently able to hear and identify the initial sound in a range of words.
