World Hunger

Introduction

World Hunger is relevant in every day life, in every country and every continent on the globe. This is an acitivity where you can be creative, color code the map, create a key that decodes the map. 

We tend to see things in black and white, but there are a lot of different factors that contribute to hunger.

Through this WebQuest we are going to explore the different causes of hunger that affect people around the world. 

Task

Which Pockets of the World have the Most Hunger?

The task is to look at the different statistics and maps provided and build your own World Hunger Index Map.

All of these statistics are recent and will help you build your own map.

When the map is complete, you will write a paragraph where you will record your thoughts about the results you found and if anything suprised you about what you found.

You want to find maps or statistics dealing with but not limited:

GDP per capita

Government Stability

Average Life Span

Overpopulation

Percentage of Land Agriculture Development

The ideal year would be 2013, if that can't be found look for 2012.

You are not limited to these resources, these are just a starter to get your research going.

Evaluation

You will be evaluated on the completion of a World Map indicating which pockets of the world have the most hunger, make sure to include some form of key or legend to help with decoding the map. 

You will also be evaluated on your reflection and if you made an effort to take what you learned about world hunger through statistics and maps and connected it to your prior knowledge. The paragraph should also include your own personal reflection about what surprised you about your findings.
