Discipline Behind Bars: Beyond the Locks and Keys

Introduction

Do you think the walls end the rules? For Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), "freedom" is restricted, but responsibility is not. The journey to reform starts with a strict code of conduct under the BJMP Comprehensive Operations Manual. But rules alone don't change lives—guidance does. It is our guidance that sets the stage for a second chance. Let’s move beyond mere punishment and empower PDLs to become the law-abiding, reformed citizens our society needs. One disciplined step at a time!

Task

Boost your creativity!

Make an infographic highlighting the different punishable acts that an inmate is prohibited from committing. Classify them as:

  1. Minor Offenses;
  2. Less Grave Offenses; and
  3. Grave Offenses

Use the BJMP Comprehensive Operations Manual 2015 as your reference.

Process
  1. Visit the BJMP Official Website. Review the BJMP Manual 2015 and make reference to Section 30 (Punishable Acts).
  2. Organize the classifications of these punishable acts.
  3. Gather your preferred materials.
  4. Use your creativity to make infographics that effectively educate your target audience. Size is no limit. Scale it your way.
  5. Present a sample to the whole class.

Conclusion

Inside a jail facility, discipline isn't just a choice—it’s a requirement. Every PDL is bound by the BJMP’s standards of conduct, but true transformation requires more than just a rulebook. It requires a roadmap. By providing the right guidance today, we turn inmates into the reformed neighbors of tomorrow.

We appreciate your role in redefining 'Discipline Behind Bars' as a standard of genuine care and rehabilitation.

Good Job!
