Task

Attention Explorers!! With the aid of our Special Rocket Ship, this WebQuest is centred around the Digestive System and is specially engineered to take its user through the fundamentals of the Digestive System, outlining all the associated members and their roles. We begin with an introduction where we go over the different members of the Digestive Tribe as well as a brief overview of the route taken by food from the first bite to the final turd. We will also go through the process of how and at what point nutrients are absorbed by the body and the negative and positive impacts of consuming certain foods. The quest will then evolve into a series of interactive activities and pop quizzes just to ensure we keep those precious minds extra sharp!

To maximize resources in bringing this lesson across, we will enlist the aid of YouTube videos that will guide us in our exploration of the digestive system as well as interactive puzzles!!

Evaluation

Task Description

As a teacher of Food and Nutrition, it's paramount to teach on the fundamentals of digestion in the body. The goal is to break down the process of digestion in a way your students can follow, understand, and ultimately replicate. In this evaluation, you will design the ideal lesson plan.

1. Research Phase

  • Explore articles on the Digestive System (i.e: Text Books, eArticles, Youtube Videos, etc)
  • Make note of any catchy jingle, songs, or animations that are relevant to your topic

2. Designing Lesson Plan

  • Make a short listing of the articles you have selected as a reference point in your lesson, save links, download songs and/or videos for presentation
  • Design your lesson based on age, learning ability, and interaction level that is appropriate for your class/audience. Try to make it as interactive and enjoyable as possible. P.S: A Sleeping class cannot learn.

3. Executing Lesson

  • After you have made preparations, selected your reference points, and outlined your lesson, it is now time to face your audience. Remember to be as engaging as possible, and spontaneous, and overall importance must be placed on knowing your lesson. If you stand before your audience with the mindset of reading solely from a script, this will hinder the overall execution of your lesson.

4. Issue Activity

  • After you execute the lesson, issue an activity to test the effectiveness of your execution. From this activity, you will now see how engaged you kept your audience, how much they can retain from your presentation, and how well they can replicate what was done

5. Take Feedback from the Class about the Lesson

  • After your lesson is complete, interact with your students and find out if this lesson was done in a way they were able to follow, if were there any discrepancies and if so, what would they like to see in upcoming lessons.

Conclusion

Congratulations on completing this WebQuest! We hope you have gained valuable insights into the digestion process and the function of how each organ works. From the mouth to the anus, you have explored how your body breaks down food and absorbs the nutrients. It is fascinating how all the organs work together to keep us energized.

I hope you had as much fun as I did on this journey of discovery.
