Introduction
Today we will be discussing the similarities and differences between Cognitive Psychology, Behaviorism, and Social Cognitivism. These are all styles of thought which help us better understand how we learn on a day to day basis.
These theories discuss important ideas about how a student can be conditioned for learning, how positive and negative reinforcements may shape their success, as well as how positive and negative influences from their sociocultural sphere may influence their behavior and success long term.
Task
Students will individually create a graphic organizer that clearly outlines similarities and differences between Cognitive Psychology, Behaviorism, and Social Cognitive theory using an app like canva or google slides to demonstrate knowledge of the three theories listed above.
The knowledge that it demonstrates should include information such as the theories pioneers, key points, and application to a real world setting. This information should be clearly outlined in a format of the students choosing. The information should come from at least three of the four provided links, as well as two additional scholarly sources that the student finds on their own. In a separate document or slide, students should include citations for each link they used.
Process
The instructions for the assignment is as follows:
1. Use the links listed below and individually gathered to gather information on these three learning theories (including things like the theories pioneers, key points, and application to a real world setting.
2. Use a resource like google slides, microsoft powerpoint, canva, etc., to create a graphic organizer comparing and contrasting these three learning theories. (eg. venn diagram).
