Alright students, today’s material is about text. In English there are 13 types of text, but this time we will discuss about descriptive text. Do you know what is descriptive text ?
Descriptive Text is a text that describes a particular person, animal, place or thing. You write a description when you want your reader to picture what you are describing. The purpose of desricptive text is to describe person, thing, or place in specific.
There are two generic stucture in descriptive text, there are Identification (this part introduces where or who the subject being described is), and Description (this part shows the detail description of subject. It may include the information about the appearance or qualities of). Let’s get started!
Task
Here you will make a descriptive text according to the themes and language features described later. Follow the step-by-step activities in the “process” part of this WebQuest. I hope you enjoy your exploration. I’m looking forward to your work next week. Good luck!
Process
- STEP 1 : Grouping and find a tourism object
Make a group consisting of three students, after that find your tourism object in your area. Each group may not choose the same tourism object. Make observations with the assistance of parents or adults. Be careful!
- STEP 2 : don't forget to learn about the meaning, generic structure, language feature, and how to write descriptive text!

STEP 3 : write a descriptive text
After you learn about descriptive text, now try to write a descriptive text about the tourism object with the language features that have been explained. Please write on buffalo paper and at the beginning of the text (under the title) give your photo when you visiting the tourism object. Then, use your creativity in decorating the article such as decorated, coloring, drawing, etc.

STEP 4 : assignment collection
