Introduction
Task
With a partner, you will use the Internet to find something you would like to buy together. You will also use the Internet to find ways to make money. When you're done, you will be able to show the rest of the class:
- what you picked to buy
- how much it costs
- how you decided to make money
- how you kept track of your money
- when you earned enough to buy what you picked
Process
Step 1 - With your partner, click on the linkbelow to pick something special to buy. Try to find something you think you can earn enough money to buy in one month. Click on decision chart to help you.
Step 2 - With your partner, click on the links below to pick a job to earn money. Click on decision chart to help you.
Questions to ask:
- How much can I earn?
- How many times can I do it?
Step 3 - Print the Calendar to keep track of what you earn.
Questions to ask:
- Will I have enough?
- Do I need to make more money?
- Is what I am buying too much?
Step 4 - Print Recording Sheet and fill in column 1. What do you notice? Do you have enough at the end of the month to buy your item? If not, what could you do? (you may want to read Step 3 questions again)
Step 5 - Now fill in column 2 of the recording sheet. On what day of the month were you able to buy your item?
Step 6 - Look at your recording sheet. Can you tell how much money you had before you bought your item and after?
Step 7 - Now you and your partner are ready to share with the class what you did.
