•   In this Webquest you will be informed about the rules of area. In addition, you will learn how to use it in real life situations. For instance, you think tons of the things you learn you will never use in real life. However, you can use area for an abundant amount of things. One example would be placeing tile but will talk about that later.

Today you will be able to work in groups of two to find out how to find and use area of many shapes. At the end of this you will have to find the area of all the flooring in your house. Plus you will find out why the formulas you get work for finding the area of them. With that being said you will also see how you can use it in your lives.

• Finally you will have an assignment to do at home. First you will draw a model of your house like the picture shown below. Then you will measure every room in your house to find the area of your flooring. In addition, put step by step instructions on how you found the area of each room. Put the area of each room in the center of the sketch. Lastly, calculate the total area of your flooring. Remember be creative and add as much detail as you can.

This is how you will be graded for this project. Follow the steps in the 100-90 column to get the highest grade you can. 

Area is a great topic to learn about, and can be used in your life a  numerous amount of times. Im sure you have seen how it can be used in your lives. Think of a few ways yourself you can use it in your life. It may seem like nothing important now but you might need to use it one day. Its a wonderful skill to have and be able to use to your advantage.

 Hi, im David Ward. My favorite subject is math and I plan to further my education in math. I wrote this webquest because i feel area is a great topic for people to know more about. You can use this for many things in your life. For example, you can use it to find how much paint you need for a wall. Anyways, I thought I should help show everyone how to find area and to make them think how they can use it in their lives. The final reason why i wrote this webquest is that I have a passion for math that can't be described with words.
