Introduction
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is one component of Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE).
ICT is a generic term referring to “technology” that are used for collecting, storing, editing and passing on (communicating) information in various forms.
We can sense that technology has evolved into more than most ever imagined it could. It is a reality that Technology has become so important in our daily lives that most people would find it difficult to go through the day without using some form or another.
To gain better understanding of the topic, Lets bring on the WebQuest!
This WebQuest is specifically created for TLE students, this aims to provide the students concrete understanding about ICT and its importance in our daily activities. This quest also aims to introduce the students to technology and its advantages.
Task
Out of the resources that will be given to you. You are task to work as a group and share each member’s learnings and realizations from the lessons encountered.

ICT has effects each and every aspects of our lives. It is used every where in this world from our kitchen to markets, from small schools to major industries. It is used in hospitals, transport, research laboratories etc. For example in homes it is used in electronic microwave ovens, ACs, digital clocks, claculators, washing machines.In scchools it is used in database management, CBT (Computer Base Training)In offices its used in Management Information SystemIn shops at POS (Point of Sale) Terminals and stock managementIn hospitals in opertion theatres, diagnosis laboratories, ultrasound, ct scan etc.
I believe that, the main purpose of technology is to make our life easier. However, we should not be dependent on it that can isolate us from each other.
Besides, it will be interesting to see how people survive without their technology.
