Introduction

~Creating a Map~

To see what a map looks like:

You are going to create a Map similar to this one. But only of Columbus's Voyages

Task

-You are going to create a map of Christopher Columbus's 4 voyages around the world.

-You will also need to create a key for the map, to see what a key should look here:(The key is shown in the white box)

Process

Find some poster paper or use a poster board and put your name on the back.

Start by creating the Continents, you can outline and then color them in with different colors. Make sure they are labeled!

Then take four seperate colors and "MAP" out the voyages Columbus took to all the different places you learned about. Make sure they are labeled as well.

Your 4 colors in the key should match the one on the map.

If you dont want to have the fun in creating your map you can go to this site:

http://education.nationalgeographic.com/mapping/outline-map/?ar_a=1

And print the map, paste to your poster and draw the voyages with 4 colored lined to match your key.

Evaluation

I am looking for a complete map with:

  • Labeling
  • Correct mapping of voyages
  • A key
  • Matching colors that you used in your key for the voyages on the map
Conclusion

Your end result map should look something like this:

Here is another example:

Keep in mind this map does not have labels, but yours should!
