Introduction

Welcome to our exciting exploration of learning numbers! We will explore numbers from 1 to 10 and see how they are all around us in our everyday life. You’ll learn to count, identify numbers, and even find numbers in the world around you. Are you ready to start counting?

 

Learning Objects

  • Students will be able to identify and count numbers from 1 to 10.

  • Students will show the ability to count objects and match them with the correct numbers.

  • Students will work together in groups to complete fun counting activities.

Task

Your task is to explore numbers and create a Counting Book. You will work in groups and each group will be given a set of numbers. Your book will include drawings, numbers, and the correct number of objects that match each number.

 

  •  You will use markers, crayons, and paper to make your very own colorful counting book!
  • At the end of our activity, you’ll show your book to the class and show everyone how well you can count.
Process

Process

Step 1: Arranging Up

  • Students will be divided into small groups of 3 to 4.
  • Each group will be given a set of numbers (1-3, 4-6, 7-10).

Step 2: Counting Practice

  • Each group will receive number cards with their assigned numbers.
  • The group will practice counting aloud and identifying the numbers.

Step 3: Drawing and Matching

  •  Using crayons or markers, each group will draw a set of objects that match their numbers (example, if your number is 3, draw 3 apples, 3 gumballs).
  •   After drawing, the group will write the number next to the objects.

Step 4: Creating the Counting Book

  •   Once your drawings are finished, each group will arrange their pages in order and staple them together to form a Counting Book.

Step 5: Presentation Time

   - Each group will take turns showing their Counting Book to the class and explaining how they matched the numbers with the drawings.

Evaluation

The Counting Book will be assessed based on the following rubric:

 

  1. Correctness: Did the group match the right number of objects to each number? (10 points)

  2. Creativity: Did the group use different and colorful drawings to represent the numbers? (10 points)

  3. Teamwork: Did the group work together nicely to complete the task? (10 points)

  4. Presentation: Did the group present their book to the class clearly? (10 points)
