In the following web quest, you will find out more about conditional sentences and their usage.
After going through the web quest, you will be able to...
- explain what conditionals are,
- when and why you use which type,
- how they are formed (main sentence, if-clause, tenses)
- remember important things, i.e. the difference between if and when,
- to give examples of all types.
Have a look at these three sentences:
1. If I have time, I will visit you. (Wenn/Falls ich Zeit habe, werde ich Dich besuchen.)
2. If I had more time, I would travel the world. (Wenn ich mehr Zeit hätte, würde ich die Welt bereisen.)
3. If I had had more time, I would have gone to the football match. (Wenn ich mehr Zeit gehabt hätte, wäre ich zu dem Fußballspiel gegangen.)
