Introduction

Exploring the characteristics of coherence
WELCOME STUDENTS
This Webquest introduces the characteristics of coherence
Do you know what coherence is?
You will find the answers to these and some other questions on websites provided in the Webquest.
Your final task is to create an individual PowerPoint presentation on coherence.
Task
You have two tasks during this Webquest.
TASK . to create a presentation on coherence.
Process

Coherence is achieved when sentences and ideas are connected and flow together smoothly.
An essay without coherence can inhibit a reader’s ability to understand the ideas and main points of the essay.
Coherence allows the reader to move easily throughout the essay from one idea to the next, from one sentence to the next, and from one paragraph to the next.
Task. Answer the questions in your PPT
Coherence
- What is coherence?
- How does coherence work in narrative paragraphs?
- How does coherence work in descriptive paragraphs?
Task 2: Create a presentation (PPT slides).
Create a PowerPoint presentation describing the characteristics of coherence in narrative paragraphs and descriptive paragraphs.
Presentations should be between 5-10 slides and have no more than 20 words per slide.
Please note that two or three students will be picked to present. Do NOT send me your ppt. Keep it in a safe place until the end of the course.
