Commas Review

Introduction

Hello all!

Right before Thanksgiving Break we were working on how to properly use commas in a sentence.  We covered three types of commas:  the introducer comma, the listing comma (also known as 'commas in a series'), and the interrupter comma.  Today will be reviewing.

Scroll down to find your questions!  There will be 14 questions in total.  Please write your answers in your journals and be sure to DATE the page.

Task

We will start with the listing commas - AKA when we use commas in a series!  Please watch the video below as a recap and keep in mind the following:

  • We use listing commas to separate items in a list so that way we can tell them a part.
  • We need at least three items to begin to use the listing commas.  For example:  I need bread, butter, and milk.
