Introduction
For this task, you will research a variety of Character Tropes for Comedies.
Task
You will create a Presentation about types of comedic characters.
The slide show will include only characters from the movies and shows that we are watching in this unit.
Each slide will have ONE character on it. Please provide a definition of the TYPE (TROPE) of character that he/she is. Then tell why that character fits that Trope with a specific example from the movie. Include an image.
Process
Begin by looking at the different sites to gather information about the types of characters that appear in a comedy movie and TV sit com show.
STEP 1
Browse the following sites for characters that have appeared so far in the two movies that we have seen: Home Alone and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

STEP 2
Identify the type of comedic character that each of the following is described as:
- Kevin McAllister - boy who is left behind
- Harry - leader of the pair of thieves
- Marv - follows Harry’s instructions
- Neal - needs a ride home for the holidays
- Dell Griffith - big guy who offers to help Neal
- Choose THREE OTHER character tropes from the sit coms that we will watch to complete your presentation.
STEP 3
Create a slide show using an app of your choice. Each slide should have one character on it, and the following information:
- Character type
- Definition of type
- Explanation of why the character fits that description with a specific example from the movie/show
- An image
