This was designed for students to get an understanding of the more difficult times in our nation's history when it comes to equality and treatment of African Americans. Understanding the challenges our nation has faced and how change was brought about is important for students to learn. Our nation has come a long way but we still have a long way to go, and as we are witnessing a time of civil unrest in our nation currently, students will benefit from learning about how change has been brought about in the past and how it can and will affect our present and future.
