Today, your task is to investigate The Big Bad Wolf in The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs. The police are out to catch him for the crimes he has committed and they need your help! As a group, you will create a WANTED ad using the character traits you have decided on for the wolf. It's up to you to tell the police what the Big Bad Wolf is like so that they can put him in jail.
Word Detective- Your job is to record all of the important things that the character says. You should only record quotations that show you what the character is like. These will help you when your group makes the WANTED ad to catch the wolf! Action Detective- Your job is to record all of the important things that the character does. You should only record actions that show you what the character is really like. These will help you when your group makes the WANTED ad to catch the wolf! Thoughts Detective- Your job is to record what the character is thinking. The author may not always tell you exactly what the character is thinking, so you may need to make some inferences. These will help you when your group makes the WANTED ad to catch the wolf! The OTHER Detective- Your job is to record what other characters say, do, or think toward the character. The author may not always tell you this, so you may need to make some inferences. What do you think other characters might think of the Big Bad Wolf? Now you are ready for The Process |

Now all of you are ready to get started! Click on the link below to listen to The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs. Be sure to read along with the paper version in front of you and record your role's clues! These will help you when your group makes the WANTED ad to catch the wolf! After reading the story, it is time to compare notes. You each have found different information about the wolf, but we need to put it all together so the police know what to look for. Go to the first blue box under the phone and grab the graphic organizer and, as a group, fill in all of the information. You will be working on the side that says... side 1. Each role should use their information to fill in a box. Now that you have a more complete picture of what the wolf is like, as a group you will select three character traits that best describe the wolf. Use your character traits sheets in your green folder to help you. Use the other side of your sheet to write down your information. Now we need to put all of this information together to create a WANTED ad. The purpose of a WANTED ad is to give information about the bad guy so that other people can identify him and then call the police to catch him. Are you up for the challenge? You will use the information you have written together on the graphic organizer to create this ad in Google Slides. Each person's role needs to be represented on the ad, so be sure that all of your evidence is included! Use Google Slides to create this ad. Your WANTED ad must include:
