Introduction

Music, Camera, Action! What do children learn from participating in musical activities? Does it aid in their development? Does it help with behavioral problems? Does it help with language development?
Task
You will view the video presentations and take notes on the type of musical or movement activity taking place. You will also think of ways to extend the learning in othe areas. For example how will singing a song help with language development. From the information that you have gathered you will create a music or movement activity.
When creating this activity you are to specify what age or grade level the activity is appropriate for. You will also specify what types of props or materials that will be needed. You will also specify the reasoning behind why you chose your activity or what area of development the activity is for and any applicable state standards.
To put together your presentation you can either demonstrate the activity or create a lesson plan.
Process
1. You will start by viewing and taking notes about the following videos to see the components of engaging children in musical activities.
2. You will choose what type of activity you will demonstrate.
3. You will find relevant state standards applicable to your state in regards to musical development with children.
4. You will either create a lesson plan or video presentation engaging the the selected activity. If you are choosing the video presentation information about the standards, developmental area and age of students should be exlained at the beginning of the video.
