Task

Create a conversation/presentation where you speak for two minutes about yourself

Be able to answer unscripted questions after your presentation - prepare and learn key question words and answers in french

Process

Brainstorm

1. Choose your preferred method e.g. conversation with your friend or individual presentation

2. Brainstorm using a mind map all the possible nouns, verbs and expressions you have learned to talk about

  • myself
  • my family
  • my house/area
  • my friends

3. If you need to expand on your material you may include other topics such as

  • weather
  • clothes
  • time
  • food

Use your notes copy and book only for this sections

Write your script

Using word reference/collins dictionary and only material you have learned in class come up with a script.

If you are doing it with a partner, you might do question and answers like you are getting to know each other for the first time.

If you are doing it alone you could imagine someone is asking you questions about yourself e.g. o`u habites-tu? as-tu un animal domestique etc.

Please use the following 6th year oral booklet to help you but make sure to use tu instead of vous because we are all friends:

Le Francais Orale Booklet 3.pdf

Proof-read

Before you submit your first draft check for simple mistakes e.g. ma soeur not mon soeur

You could get a friend to check

Submit your script for review by your teacher.

Correct any underlined mistakes

Learn pronunciation

Practice reading aloud and use word reference for any words you are unsure of

Learn script

Know your script so well that you only need an outline to help you

Brainstorm questions and answers you could be asked

Make sure you understand the following questions :

  • Qui
  • Qu'est-ce que
  • Quel
  • O`u
  • Quand
  • Pourquoi
  • Comment
  • Combien
  • Est-ce que

How would you answer questions like

est-ce que tu aimes des fraises?

qu'est-ce que tu portes aujourd'hui?

Comment s'appelle ta soeur? etc.
