The Case of the Missing Animals

Introduction

By mistake someone delivered a bunch of wild animals to our 2nd grade class.

There are animals from all over the world running wild in our classroom.

Our problem is that each animal is different and can only survive in certain natural habitats.

We need to gather each animal ad return them to their natural habitat.

So grab your ropes and get ready to wrangle up some critters!

Hurry it is a zoo in here!!

Task

It is your job to choose an animal to research and build suitable mini-habitat for it. You will be using the internet to gain information about your animal. You will also prepare either a written report or a Powerpoint presentation and present orally to the class your findings.

Task One: 

Choose one of the animals on the cargo list and use the internet or informational books to learn about its natural habitat.

Task Two:

Learn a little about each of the other habitats; to better understand why your makes the best habitat for your animal.

Task Three:

Use the information gained form your research to create a diorama of your animals habitat.

Task Four:

Prepare either a written report or a Powerpoint presentation to showcase your findings. Be prepares to present this information orally in class.

2.2. Please also think of two other animals as well in case your 1st choice has been chosen before you can write your name on the master cargo list (located on the chalk board).

3.3. This is your animal and you may not change animals without talking to the teacher first.
