Candy Bar Development

Introduction

Your job is to create a new candy bar for the Wonka Willy Candy Company. It has been 50 years since the company came out with a new candy bar. Over the years, production has been decreasing greatly as children spend more time licking suckers and devouring pixie stixs. We need your creativity to help build up the candy bar department again!

Task

Save the Wonka Willy Candy Company!

You will design a new candy bar with an original slogan.  This will require:

  1. Type a simple report answering all of the questions that are shown under the process tab.

  2.  Design a one page magazine advertisement for your candy bar using Microsoft Word or Publisher

  3.  Create a candy bar wrapper using Microsoft Publisher

 

Process

Planning the Candy Bar     

What is the name of your candy bar?

Candy Bar ingredients: You need to decide what you want your candy bar to include.  What kind of nuts do you want in your candy bar?  Do you want peanuts? almonds?  What about caramel?  How about peanut butter? Do you want it to be milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate.  

Next you need to decide a slogan for your candy bar.  Some examples are:  "Nobody better lay a finger on my butterfinger" or "Have a break, have a kitkat".

1.  Type a simple report:

Your report should describe your candy bar.  Be very descriptive, remember you want people to want to taste your new creation!  It also should include your slogan, candy name and how much you will charge for the candy bar.   

2.  Design a Magazine Advertisement

You need to create a one page ad to catch the customer's eye and introduce them to your candy bar.  Be creative!!!!  Make sure to emphasize your snazzy new slogan, include the name of the candy bar and make reference to the Wonka Willy Candy Company.  Remember, the marketing team is counting on your ability to attract new customers!

3.  Creating the wrapper:

Next you need to design your candy bar wrapper.  What colors and logo do you want on your wrapper? Design your wrapper using Paint.

You will then need to use Microsoft Publisher to create your wrapper. Steps on how to use Microsoft Publisher will be given to you. 

Evaluation

You will be graded on: 

your report, the design of your magazine ad, and the creativity of your wrapper. A rubric will be provide with the specific scoring guide.
