Learning Objective: Students will be able to identify Facts and Opinions and explain why each is Fact or Opinion.
This lesson introduces students to the differences between facts and opinions in an interactive way. A fact is something true and can be verified objectively or proven. An opinion is a belief that people have about something or someone. An opinion can be true or false and is capable of changing in truth.
Task: Decide if each statement is a fact or an opinion. Write F for fact or O for an opinion on each question.
Description: This Webquest allows students to apply his/her knowledge of facts and opinions.

Task
- Watch a video that explains what a fact or an opinion is, then select the color of the team you would like to be on. The colors are: Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green
- Students will divide themselves into groups by the color chosen
- Group members need to decide which questions are facts and which are opinions.
- After finding what fact is and what is an opinion, the teams will swap teams to see if their answers were correct.
- Once all the facts and opinions are found, each team will receive a prize.
Process
Step 1: Watch Video:
Step 2 : Get into groups based off the color selected
Step 3: Each team will select five questions from the Fact and Opinion pile
Step 4. Look at the questions carefully and amongst your team determine if the statement is fact or opinion
Step 5: Next each team will write down one fact and one opinion about themselves.
Step 6: Each student will explain why their statements are fact or opinion. The team that follows all of the directions and completes the assignment first will be win a Free Dress Day.
Step 7: The teacher will assist the teams who needs help determining what is fact and what is opinion

Conclusion
Fantastic job at finding out what is fact and what is opinion. Remember that a fact can be proven, and an opinion is a person's thoughts or beliefs. Always remember that you can do anything as long as you apply yourselves.
