Greetings Fellow Gardeners!
I have a problem with the king’s garden and I need your help! I am calling all of the land’s gardeners to help me. He has requested a new spot for his garden but I can not remember what is important when making a new garden. Can you help me find a good spot? Do you know what is important for a plant to grow and bloom? Find a fellow gardener and research what is the best environment for a plant to grow and what do they need to grow? I have included a graphic organizer to help you organize your thoughts as you research. I look forward to hearing your replies!

Task
You and your partner can use all the research from the process tab to learn more about what plants need to grow. As you go through all of the resources use your KWL chart to help organize your thoughts. Make sure as you complete your KWL you are remembering the important facts. You can use this graphic organizer to help you complete the google quiz at the end of the process tab.
Once you finish everything you will be allowed to move on to your reply to the king’s message. You will create a design plan or model for the King’s gardener. You will use any STEM materials you need to create your idea. You will find all materials on the back table. REMEMBER take your time and do your best.

Evaluation
Yaaaayyy! You have learned so much about growing plants. Now it is time to respond to the King’s gardener. Using some STEM materials from the back table create a model or design of what the King’s gardener should grow. Make sure you use the knowledge you learned from today’s lesson. In your model it should show all the parts that a plant needs to survive.
Before you get started make sure you have turned in your google quiz and brought me your KWL chart.

Plants depend on water and light to grow. (LE.LS2A.a) This core idea is that the plant must have water and sunlight but it changes as the habitat that it grows around changes. When the ecosystem/habitat is hotter; the plant needs more water to survive because they are getting more sun than water.
