Creating a Butterfly Book-Second Grade

Introduction

In this WebQuest, you will find information on the web to help you create an informational butterfly booklet to share with younger students.  Good luck, butterfly scientists!

 

Process

 

 

There will be six pages to complete in your book.

1. You will decorate your cover (Butterfly Book.)  You may use the following links to help you with your illustrations of eggs, caterpillars, chrysalids, and adult butterflies:

2. Section One:  Create a page that tells about the life cycle of the butterfly.  Draw the cycle, number each part, write the name of the stage, and draw and color a picture of the life cycle.

3. Section 2:  Using the Venn diagram provided on your booklet page, write (and illustrate if you wish) the differences between butterflies and moths.  (The middle section where the circles intersect-come together-is where you will list the ways butterflies and moths are the SAME.) 4. Sections 3 and 4:  Illustrate and write the many ways butterflies and caterpillars protect themselves.  (You will have some of the same ways listed for both butterflies and caterpillars.)  Remember the youtube videos you watched.  Here are some links to aid you:
