Business Model Canvas: Key Resources and Value Propositions

Welcome to today’s quick webquest! You will dive into two important elements of the Business Model Canvas: Key Resources and Value Propositions. These will help you understand what your business needs and what makes it stand out.

• Key Resources: The essential tools, people, and materials your business needs.
• Value Proposition: Why your product or service is special and how it solves a problem for your customers.

In this webquest, you will:

1. Learn about Key Resources and Value Propositions.
2. Apply this knowledge to your own business idea by filling out the Key Resources and Value Propositions sections of a Business Model Canvas.

Step 1: Watch and Learn (10 minutes)

1. Watch these two short videos:

2. After watching, write down:

   • Two examples of Key Resources.
   • One examples of a Value Proposition.

Step 2: Create Your Business Model Canvas (25 minutes)

1. Work on your own business idea.

2. Use your own Business Model Canvas Template:
   
   Business Model Canvas Template

3. Fill out the Key Resources and Value Proposition sections of the canvas:

   • Key Resources: What materials, people, or knowledge does your business need to run?
   • Value Proposition: What makes your product or service unique and attractive to customers?

4. Once you have completed these sections, download or save a copy of your canvas.

Step 3: Share Your Work (10 minutes)

1. In a quick pair-share activity, explain your Key Resources and Value Proposition to a classmate.
2. After discussing with your partner, review and make any final improvements to your Business Model Canvas.

Your individual work will be evaluated based on:

1. Completion of the Business Model Canvas (Key Resources and Value Proposition sections) – 80%.
2. Quality of explanations and examples (based on the video and your own business idea) – 20%.

You must submit your completed Business Model Canvas to the teacher at the end of the lesson.

In just 45 minutes, you’ve learned how to identify the Key Resources and create a strong Value Proposition for your business idea. These are essential parts of any business plan. Keep developing your canvas as you continue to refine your entrepreneurship project!
