British festivals

Introduction

In this webquest you are going to learn about the festivals and the most important celebrations in England. There are some similarities and differences from Spain so let's discover them!

Task

You are going to create a powerpoint presentation about the main festivals and celebrations in Britain. For that you are going to work in pairs and do the following: 

  • From the http://projectbritain.com/calendars/index.html, choose your favourite festival or celebration.

  • Indicate the meaning of this festival and make a short summary about how it is celebrated.

  • Comments some differences between how it is celebrated in Spain.

  • Provide some pictures about it.

Process

Process 1 - Festivals and important celebrations in England 

  • Think about all the festivals or dates that are celebrated in England. Make a list and compare with a partner. Have you got the same notes?
  • Work in pairs. Look at the http://projectbritain.com/calendars/index.html and choose your favourite celebration after read a little about all of them.

Process 2 - Your favourite celebrations from England 

  • Search information about your favourite celebrations and create the presentation. 
  • Present your powerpoint to your mates.
