A Brainy Adventure!

Introduction

Hey explorers! Have you ever wondered how you learn new things?

Do you learn best by thinking hard, practicing over and over, or by watching others?

You’re about to become a Learning Detective and go on an adventure to discover how the brain learns in different ways!

Let’s explore three special ways kids learn:

👓 Thinkers (Cognitive Learning)

🎯 Doers (Behavior Learning)

👀 Watchers (Social Learning)

Are you ready to solve the mystery of how YOU learn best?

Task

You and your Learning Team will:

  • Discover the three ways kids learn best

  • Watch cool videos and play fun games to learn more

  • Create a fun poster to teach others what you learned

  • Share your creation with the class!

You’ll work in teams of 3 or 4. Everyone will have a special job:

  • Thinker: Reads and listens to the ideas

  • Writer: Writes down the group’s thoughts

  • Artist: Helps design the poster

  • Speaker: Helps share the work with the class

Process

Step 1: Learn About the 3 Ways We Learn

Click on each brainy way to learn:

Talk about:

  • What are some smart tricks you use to remember things?

  • How did rewards or rules help you learn?

  • What did the kids learn in the last video just by seeing someone else do it?

  • Which way do you learn best (remembering/thinking, practicing, or watching someone else)?

Step 2: Choose Your Favorite Way of Learning

As a group, talk about:

  • Which video was your favorite?

  • Have you ever learned like that at school or at home?

Step 3: Create a Learning Poster

  • 🎨 Use crayons, markers, paper, or pictures to design your poster.
  • 🧠 Include the name of each learning style: Cognitive, Behaviorism, and Social Learning.
  • ✍️ Write a short and simple description for each learning style.
  • 💡 Make your poster colorful, neat, and easy to understand!

Step 4: Share Your Learning

Each group will show their creation to the class.

Tell us:

  • What you learned

  • Which learning way was your favorite and why

Conclusion

You did it, Learning Detectives!

You explored how kids learn in different waysby thinking, practicing, and watching others. You worked together, used your brains and creativity, and shared what you discovered. Way to go!

Time to Reflect

Let’s think about what we did:

  • What part of this project did you enjoy the most?

  • What was something new or surprising you learned?

  • Which learning style do you use the most, and why?

Think Bigger! Higher-Level Brain Boosters

Here are some big questions to think about or explore another day:

  • Why do you think some kids learn differently than others?

  • Can learning styles change as you grow up?

Use What You Learned

Now that you know how people learn in different ways, try this:

  • Teach a friend or family member something using their learning style.

  • The next time you’re learning something tricky, try a different style than usual!
