Introduction
All of us have seen movie trailers at some point in our lives. These movie trailers give us a brief but very intense look at an upcoming movie. The movie trailer is designed to peak our interest and persuade us to want to watch the movie. Trailers use powerful music, fast moving images and key lines from the movie to give us an overall feel for the story.

Task
Task
Your task is to create a book trailer for the novel "Home to Mother" Doris Pilkington Garimara using persuasive elements and devices to persuade your audience to read it.
Represent the book in a powerful and interesting way that makes us want to read it without giving the entire story away! Your trailer can use video, music, sound effects and images to help tell the story of your novel. In the end, your trailer will be viewed by the students at Our Lady of the Way.

Process
Planning Your Trailer
You must complete the entire planning process before you start making your book trailer video. This planning is very important and will make the process much easier and your final product much better.
Step One
Complete the following book trailer template story map

Copies will be given out in class.
Step Two
Share your book trailer planning with at least one other person in class. Work together to improve each of your plans. The conversation you have here is very important and can be a huge help.
Teacher Checkpoint
You must have your teacher sign off on the Book Trailer Template BEFORE you can move on to the next step. You will be asked to report on the conversation that you had with your classmate(s) and the ideas that came from that conversation.
Step Three
Create a folder in your One Drive called Book Trailer Media. You will be searching for images, sound effects, music and video and will need to save these things into your Book Trailer Media file.
Step Four
Using your Book Trailer Template as a guide, begin your search for the media (images, music, etc) that you will need for your book trailer. Save these in your Book Trailer Media file.
ALL MEDIA for your video must have a CREATIVE COMMONS license or be in the PUBLIC DOMAIN. See the links below for help in finding this kind of media.
- Videos: Be sure you include "creative commons" in your search term. You can also visit Wikimedia Commons for a list of places that offer these kinds of videos

Step Six
Putting Together Your Book Trailer
Now it's your turn! Using the media you have found as well as your planning sheets, start putting together your video!
Your video must contain the following information:
- Title of book
- Author of book
- Persuasive elements and devices
The end of your video must contain the following information:
- Your first name and last initial
Video must be between 1.30 and 2.30 Minutes in length.
