With the recent proliferation of online shopping around the world, Black Friday is now celebrated in many countries beyond the United States. It's a familiar event in our daily lives, with students taking advantage of the low prices to get the things they need. As the holiday approaches, we thought we'd take a look at what Black Friday is all about. 

Here's what you'll learn about Black Friday.

<Individual Activity>

1) Research the history and origins of Black Friday and write a brief note (no more than 1 page on A4 paper)



2) Submit a note researching Black Friday marketing strategies for a consumer item of interest to you. 

    (A4 paper, no more than 3 pages, attach images.)

If you are interested in “clothes,” write about what promotions are offered during Black Friday at your favorite sites that you normally frequent



1) How much more of a discount they are offering because of Black Friday on top of their existing price.



2) If there is no price reduction, what other perks they are offering, such as extra points.



3) Scan through the site and see if there are any items you weren't planning on buying but are now tempted by Black Friday.

After each group activity, come forward and give a group presentation. The key to this presentation is that you will be presenting based on your research, but be sure to organize your argument logically and utilize visuals effectively in your delivery.
