Birth of Jazz WebQuest

Introduction

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to jump in a time capsule and travel back in time?  Where would you go?  Would you like to attend a party in the 1920s?  This was a booming time when parties were wild and raucous and prohibition was being ignored collectively?

The Jazz age is one of the most interesting periods in history.  It was a time of rebellion, fashion, fads, money, and extravagant parties.  The 1920s had its downside as well: the poor were extremely poor, the stock market crashed, the game of baseball changed forever, and the world was trying to recover from World War 1, which affected everyone.  The Jazz Age's ups and downs have incited interest in many who have studied the time period.

Are you ready to dive into a world of glittering parties, raucous music, rebellious women, and exciting societal changes?  In this WebQuest, you will travel back in time to find out what life was like in the 1920s.

Task

Throughout this WebQuest, you will utilize your excellent researching skills to learn about life during the Jazz Age.  You will take the information you find and put it into a brochure advertising the jazz scene in the 1920s.  The goal of your brochure is to discuss the Jazz Age and the birth of jazz.

Use only the resources provided (AKA no Google!) to complete this task.
