Biomes/ Habitats

Introduction

Hello my favorite researchers!

Did you know that animals live in different places around the world called BIOMES?

Biomes are made up of several habitats.

You job is to research and find the habitat of your assigned animal!

Task

Identify the characteristics of the animal's biome

Identify the characteristics of the animal's habitat.

During the exploration students will be able to:

Describe what the animal needs to survive in their habitat.

Is habitat a biome?

A habitat is the location where a group of one type of organism (a population ) lives, while a biome is a community made of all the

habitats in a given region and climate. Different organisms inhabit different types of biomes.

Conclusion

YOU DID IT!

This was an AMAZING exploration! You learned about the habitat of your animal.

You watched videos about your animals characteristics and living space.

Here is an online book for you to look for home work!

I would like to thank all my students for participating with me on this journey! I would like to thank createwebquest.com for making it easy

for me to develop my very own class WebQuest!  I would also like to thank my amazing wonder group of women that designed this with

me!

Teacher Page

This lesson was created with my LMU capstone group. It is a collaborative teaching model. The students will collect information they find on the WebQuest and write it down and report what they have learned with their group assigned the same animal. The objective is for the students to gather information about the assigned animal and the students will develop a zoo inspired habitat.

This lesson will allow students to work individually and to interact and ask questions with their peers. The lesson is fun and the students are learning and gaining knowledge about the habitats, and resources needed, and diets for the elephant, tiger, and gorilla. This lesson will accomplish creativity, understanding, critical thinking and engagement.
