The Bill of Rights are the first 10 amendments to the United States Constitution. The idea behind the Bill of Rights was to insure certain freedoms and rights to the citizens of America.

Task

Your task is to research your assigned amendment(s) and report on it to the class. You will also create a drawing that represents your amendment(s). This will be added to our Bill of Rights quilt!

Process

1. Start by filling out the paper about your amendment(s).

2. Answer the questions about your amendment(s).

3. Brainstorm images or ideas that you think represent your amendment(s).

4. Sketch a rough draft of your ideas for your quilt square.

5. Get your rough draft approved by Mrs. LaFayette.

5. With your partner, get your materials and draw your images to represent your amendment. Be sure to include a title, such as  "1st Amendment". See the rubric for more information about how to make your quilt square.
