Introduction
Now that we've explored our non-fiction unit about features of a non-fiction report, it is our now turn to complete a group project on Big Cats!
Learning Goal: Researching Big Cats and using features from a non-fiction report to create a Slide Show
Task
You will be working in a group of 5 researching all about Big Cats. You all must choose at least three Big Cats (can choose up to 5) and work together finding features of it's Appearance, Diet, Behaviour, Habitat and Fun Facts. Work together and create a Slide Show presentation on your final product titled 'Big Cats'!
Questions - Please make sure you answer these questions of research on your Big Cat:
1) Is your Big Cat considered Endangered? Threatened?
2) What is one interesting fact about your Big Cat?
3) Why did you choose this Big Cat?
Process
Step 1: As your teacher has put you in groups already, choose 1 group leader who will organize the Slide Show.
Step 2: Either each of you choose a Big Cat each or you can collaborate and choose 3 different Big Cats.
Step 3: Click on the Big Cat of your choice below and jot down all of the information needed on Appearance, Habitat, Diet, Behaviour and Fun Facts. Feel free to use other resources on the internet but be sure to include them in your Slide Show!

Step 5: Send this information to your Group Leader for them to finalize the Group Project.
Step 6: Make sure your last page is your Resource Page. Copy and paste all of the links you and your group used.
Step 7: Review your final Group Project slideshow (look over grammar and punctuation!) and hand it in!

Your learners have completed a range of skills (Computing, Social and Emotional Skills with collaborating with friends, Visual Arts with designing graphics, Literacy with ensuring their grammar and punctuation are correct, Geography with finding where Big Cats are located in the World). This is a project that can take up some time so be sure to group your students accordingly. They may select a group leader or you may wish to select one for them, depending on your class. This is a fun end of unit project on non-fiction reports and it's a great way to collaborate using technology!
