Introduction
"What is the best part of you?"
The best part of me by Wendy Ewald [Read Aloud]
Standard: Follow a writing process to produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, style, and voice are appropriate to the task, purpose, and audience; develop writing with narrative, expository, and argumentative techniques.
a. Narrative: Develop narratives including poems about real or imagined experiences with clearly identified characters, wellstructured event sequences, narrative techniques, and relevant descriptive details.
Task
SWBAT: write a paper about their favorite part of themselves
After reading the book "The best part of me" by Wendy Ewald, students will pick the part of them that they love the best for example: I love my brown eyes. When the sun hits them they turn into a nice caramel swirl.
Process
Students will brainstorm about their favorite part of themselves and begin writing a rough draft about why they love it. When the students have finished their rough draft they will submit it by sharing it on google docs with the teacher.
Evaluation
Teacher will read all "Best Part of Me" papers and check over them for spelling errors, comprehension, flow of the sentence structure and paragraphs then returning to the students for them to edit and revise for their final draft.
