Introduction
Hello Class!
It’s Ms.Muñoz, I have a mission for you all today. Do you know those guys, the framers? NO NO NO not these farmers...

Well, three of them keep arguing over who is the best and who has the best ideas…. And blah.. blah..blah… Now they have asked us to settle it and decide who is the best, once and for all…
Are you ready for this mission?
I hope you are ready because I need your help!
Get ready to INVESTIGATE!!
Task
Your task, if you choose to accept it (well you kind of don’t have a choice…hahaha)
.. Is to research and investigate into each of the peoples’ stories and see which one contributed the most to the Constitution of the United States at the convention.
You have to choose one of the three people given to you and you have to use the information and research given to you to write one paragraph (4-5 sentences) about the person and one paragraph about what they did at the convention that you will present in front of the class to figure out who it is.
That means that one paragraph will be INFORMATIONAL and the other will be OPINION based.
Forgot what those mean?
There’s a cheat sheet below…..

So by the end of class, you will turn in two paragraphs into me and then we will be able to see who is the best in your opinions.
Process
Here is the research I was able to find on those three guys:
Their names:
-
Benjamin Franklin
-
James Madison
-
George Washington
The Convention definition:
| Constitutional Convention | Convention called in 1787 to discuss problems with the current government document, the Articles of Confederation. The result was a new form of government, the Constitution. Delegates from all over the colonies attended, and they struggled with competing concerns of large-population states and small-population states. George Washington presided over the Convention, and James Madison took detailed notes. Once the Constitution was approved at the Convention, it still had to be ratified by a certain number of states. |

James Madison:

Madison was clearly the main figure at the convention. Some of the delegates favored an authoritarian central government; others, retention of state sovereignty; and most occupied positions in the middle of the two extremes. Madison, who was rarely absent and whose Virginia Plan was in large part the basis of the Constitution, tirelessly advocated a strong government, though many of his proposals were rejected. Despite his poor speaking capabilities, he took the floor more than 150 times, third only after Gouverneur Morris and James Wilson. Madison was also a member of numerous committees, the most important of which were those on postponed matters and style. His journal of the convention is the best single record of the event. He also played a key part in guiding the Constitution through the Continental Congress.
