Amendment 22

AMENDMENT XXII

SECTION 1.

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

SECTION 2.

This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several states within seven years from the date of its submission to the states by the Congress.

My Summary: The 22nd amendment limits the president to only two 4 years of service. Before the 22nd amendment, Presidents traditionally got to serve two years, following the ways of George Washington. Franklin D Roosevelt broke this tradition during his presidency and served four terms by luck. As World War II and the Great Depression convinced him to run for a third and fourth term, since the country was in crisis. After FDR died in 1945, many Americans began to recognize that having a president serve more than eight years was bad for the country. This led to the 22nd amendment, which was passed by Congress in 1947 and ratified by the states by 1951.

Identity Theft:

In Florida there is a program. It is called, “ The Florida Kids ACT.”  Identity Theft is a big issue. Not only to Adults but kids as well. As a commissioner stated,” I came here today to share my story with you because I want to help prevent other children from going through what I’m going through,” which shows that it can happen to anyone. It is also estimated that every year that about 50,000,000 children in Florida become identity theft. The KIDS Act can prevent identity theft from destroying the lives of others.

The action of identity theft can be caused by anyone, it could be family, friends or spouses. The internet as well. provides a faceless median by which even a fourteen year old can partake in this criminal activity. This is

the very reason companies are beginning to educate the population on personal information.

The Federal Trade Commission (“FTC” or “Commission”) is amending its Red Flags Rule promulgated under Section 615 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), to implement the Red Flag Program Clarification Act of 2010 (Clarification Act or Act). The interim final rule amends the definition of “creditor” in the original Red Flags Rule

Make it consistent with the revised definition of that term in the Clarification Act.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identity_theft

This document is describing the meaning and term of identity theft. For example, the term identity theft was coined in 1964] however it is not literally possible to steal an identity—less ambiguous terms are identity fraud or impersonation.

"Determining the link between data breaches and identity theft is challenging, primarily because identity theft victims often do not know how their personal information was obtained," and identity theft is not always detectable by the individual victims, according to a report done for the FTC.

http://www.justice.gov/criminal/fraud/websites/idtheft.html

The website is basically saying that identity theft is a crime.  Identity theft and identity fraud are terms used to refer to all types of crime in which someone wrongfully obtains and uses another person's personal data in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain. This shows that not only is identity theft is bad it’s an act of fraud.

The Twenty-second Amendment of the United States Constitution sets a term limit for election to the office to the president of the United States. Congress passed the amendment on March 21, 1947. It was ratified by the requisite number of states on February 27, 1951.

No person shall be elected to be president more than twice you will be ratifying the amendment and may be sent to jail. Which may ruin the nominator’s reputation.

A proposal before Congress would repeal the 22nd amendment to allow Barack Obama to serve as "President for life." This also refers to the limits and terms.

Identity Theft:

What is the 22nd Amendment about, Identity Theft?

The 22nd Amendment is about the President doing something. Wanna know more? Here you go. The 22nd Amendment says that the President cannot be elected more than twice. Right at this moment President Obama is trying to change that amendment and be the president for life because he believes he is really good at being president.

This answer is correct. Barack Obama does want to be president for life although. Also, is he allowed to change or ratify it? Just curious.

Ratified:

When has it been ratified?

It has been ratified twice. Which I believe is good I think. I don't know completely I'm not a political kind of guy.

Good thank you, you have answered this correctly.

President Election:

Who was the first president?

The first President Is George Washington. Easy Question.

Yes correct. Also, very true. I decided to test you but actually the first president was John Hanson. Once the signing took place in 1781, a President was needed to run the country.
