An Artist's Eyes

Introduction

Hello class, welcome back to Art! In this lesson we will take a look at different artists and see the type of style of art each of them have. By the end of this lesson you should be able to...

- Understand what an artist is

- Tell me at least one type of art style

- Find out your art style

- Create you own work of art and explain how you came up with it

Task

After our group discussions and activities, you will come up with an art piece powerpoint of the process behind what you've created. You can include as many creative straits as you want. Make it your own! You all have the opportunity to work with others in a group of up to 3 and collaborate on one piece.

Process

Each person in your group should be assigned to at least 1 task. No one will be doing all the work or it will not be counted for you as a grade.

- Choose an art piece out of the examples we went over

- If you are working in a group, be sure to know what you all are going to be responsible of doing

- Work on this in class, that way if you need help I am there to assist

- Be creative, let your imagination flow

Evaluation

You will be graded on...

- Creativity: Did you take the time to make this your own? Is it different? Does it tell me, as an artist, who you are? How are you expressing yourself through this project?

- Grammar: Are your words spelt correctly? Did you use proper, grade level sentences?

- Understanding: Can I understand what you are explaining? Do you know the material that you are presenting

- Collaboration: Did everyone in your group participate? Did everyone get a chance to add their ideas? Did you work as a team?

- Process: Are you showing us the steps in which you completed the art piece? Ex.. pictures, step by step explanations?

- Presentation: Are you speaking clearly for others to hear? Did you engage others in your presentation? Am I interested in the material you are presenting?

- Peer engagement: What are some things you learnt from your other classmates? Are you showing respect as they're presenting? Can you tell me what you gained from them presenting.

Conclusion

Now that you've completed your project, you should have a better understanding of a process behind creating an art piece!
