Introduce claims, support claims, use organizational structures to group related ideas that support the argument and provide a concluding statement or section that follows from the argument presented.
Objective:Students will be able to use information in text to support an argument, determine a position and provide written arguments to support it and produce a piece of writing that includes an introduction to a position, organized reasons and a conclusion.
Students will investigate, gather and develop ideas or information regarding features and definitons of an argumentative essay and the difference between argumentative and persuasive writing.
You are taking the journey to explore the basic structure, techniques and steps to write a good argumentative essay and how you can persuade and present well-reasoned arguments on a debatable issue

Task
Step1:
Imagine, you are a researcher in a group of three and your task is to investigate, gather and develop ideas or information on each one of these below:
- the features of an argumentative essay
- define each one of the features
- the difference between argumentative and persuasive writing

Step 2:
Your group will put together a short powerpoint using the information that you found about argumentative essay. You should have no more than 4 slides for your powerpoint. You will present your powerpoints to the class.
