Introduction
Have you ever wondered how an ancient civilization could thrive in the middle of the desert? The Nile River was more than just water — it was the lifeline of Ancient Egypt. In this WebQuest, you’ll journey back in time as a historian to uncover the secrets of Egyptian civilization, understand how geography influenced its growth, and explain why the Nile was so important to every part of Egyptian life.
Task
Your team will create a digital museum exhibit called “Life Along the Nile” that showcases Ancient Egyptian civilization. Your final product will be a Google Slides or Canva presentation with at least 10 slides, highlighting the following areas:
-
Geography of the Nile River
-
Daily life in Ancient Egypt
-
Agriculture and trade
-
Religion and mythology
-
Government and leadership (Pharaohs)
-
Innovations and achievements
You’ll work in groups of 4. Each member will take on one role and be responsible for researching and presenting that section of the exhibit.
Process
Step 1: Form Teams
Each team will have 4 students. Assign these roles:

-
The Historian – Researches government, Pharaohs, and military

The Curator – Studies religion, gods, art, and architecture
Step 2: Research
Use the list of websites under "Resources" to research your role’s focus area. Take notes and collect images, quotes, or diagrams.
Step 3: Collaborate
Meet with your team to plan the structure of your museum exhibit. Decide on:
-
Color/theme/design of your slideshow
-
Order of topics
-
Who presents which part
Step 4: Create the Exhibit
Use Google Slides or Canva to design your exhibit. Make sure to:
-
Include at least 10 slides
-
Use visuals: maps, photos, diagrams, etc.
-
Cite your sources at the end
-
Make it visually appealing and easy to understand
Step 5: Present
Each team will present their digital museum exhibit to the class. Be ready to explain your section and answer questions.
