Introduction
Histology is the study of tissues and their structure. The structure of each tissue is directly related to its function, so histology is related to anatomy and physiology. ... Disease processes affect tissues in distinctive ways, which depend on the type of tissue, the disease itself and how it has progressed.
Task
The purpose of this web The purpose of this web quest is to give students a place to explore, study and learn the tissues that make up the human body.Since these subjects of Human Anatomy are quite daunting as a whole, this will be an introduction to Human Anatomy beginning at the cellular level and building to tissue which will be broken down into smaller steps so that the learning process progresses until all material is able to recall. This will require a lot of time spent looking over, materials, videos and websites links given. The resources are all here for access, you have to utilize them.quest is to give students a place to explore, study and learn the tissues that make up the human body.Since these subjects of Human Anatomy are quite daunting as a whole, this will be an introduction to Human Anatomy beginning at the cellular level and building to tissue which will be broken down into smaller steps so that the learning process progresses until all material is able to recall. Process
Progress:
1. Begin by watching or going over "Tips for learning Anatomy" on the TASK page.
1. Next, watch the "what is a tissue ? video" below (more than once) and take notes.
2. Proceed to the Histology Power Point, which will be covered in class
3. Watch four tissue videos below (more than once and take notes)
4. Review sessions will follow each tissue video being played in class
5. Be sure to use the website links for Histology World and Histology Tutor, they are great study tools
Description: This website covers all information needed to know about the four main tissues in the body, where they are located, the cell shape that makes them up and the structure they contain.
Description: PART 1 - WHAT IS A TISSUE MADE OF AND WHAT IS A TISSUE?
Description: INFORMATION ON NERVOUS TISSUE
Evaluation
Evaluation for this class is broken down to four sections (Worth 25 points a piece).
Each section will be broken down accordingly:
Notes taken from video on Web quest worth 10 points
Time spent studying Web quest will be logged (1 point for 1/2 hour spent studying) worth 10 points total
A quiz will be posted every week worth 5 points (These will be added to evaluation page on Friday of each week and due the following Monday).
The last 5 points of each section will be used for cumulative exam at the end of week 4. (The test will be added on Friday of week 4, and it will be due the following Monday).
NOTES:
Quizzes - You will have 20 minutes to take each, you must finish when you open and begin or you will receive zero.
Tests - you will have 90 minutes to complete the exam. (You must finish the exam once started)
EXTRA CREDIT:
You can earn 5 extra credit points by taking notes on the "What is a Tissue Video" on the process page.
You can earn 5 extra credit points every section by showing that you are utilizing the tips and tricks for studying Anatomy and Physiology found on the task page of the Web quest

Conclusion
Congratulations on making through the Histology section of Human Anatomy and Physiology! I know that it was a lot of information to take in, but I assure you that the information that you learned in the last four weeks will greatly help you conquer this class. I hope that you found this portion of the class interesting because we have a long way to go. Next we move onto larger components of the body and dissection, which are always a more hands on portion of Human Anatomy. I hope that this web quest helped you achieve what you wanted in class and look forward to seeing your comments and suggestions on how to improve it. I want to make sure that this class gives you all the information you will need to succeed in this class.

This Web quest was created in order to help students not only learn about Histology,
but really understand how to study for a subject that has an extensive content
area. Human Anatomy and Physiology is an amazing subject pertaining to how our
bodies are built and how they work, but it can be daunting to a student who
first encounters it. By breaking the subject into smaller more manageable
subjects and then putting them together, it does not seem as unmanageable.
