American Revolution Scavenger Hunt

Introduction

Over the upcoming weeks, our class will be studying the American Revolution. Today it is your job to use the websites provided to hunt for the answers to ten questions. This is just a sneak peak at the events we will be studying during our unit. Put on your thinking caps and get ready for the hunt! 

Task

You will use the five websites provided to answer ten questions about the American Revolution. After you complete the WebQuest on your own, I will pair you up with a partner so you can discuss your answers. Then we will come back together at the end of the activity to talk about it as a whole group. 

Process

Steps to follow:

1. Get the question sheet where you will record your answers. I have them printed out for you. 

2. As you look at each question look for the website you should use for each of the questions. You can click on the links below to get to the websites needed. 

3. Record your answers on the questions on the sheet I provided. If you have any other questions, write them on the back of your response sheet. 

4. After you complete the WebQuest on your own, you will find a partner to discuss your findings. 

5. At the end of the activity, we will come back together as a whole group to discuss the activity. Bring any questions you have with you because we will be writing them all down.

Conclusion

The American Revolution was an important time in our country's history. As you research the key ideas, feel free to dot down additional questions you might have on the back of your response sheet so we can make sure they get answered in our upcoming unit. Over the next few weeks, we will look at the events that led to the revolution. We will also study major battles and events that took place during the war. We will end our unit with a research project on a famous person from the time of the American Revolution. 

After you complete the WebQuest and discuss your findings with a partner, we will come back together as a whole class. Please bring any additional questions you have. We will make a list so we can make sure each question is answered throughout our upcoming lessons.
