Introduction
Amelia Earhart was an American Aviator who disappeared on July 2, 1937. Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the first person to fly from California to Hawaii. She broke down many barriers for women at the time and set new records that quickly made her the most famous aviotor of her time and still today. However, what she may be most known for his her disappearance. On may 21,1937 she set off from California on her next groundbreaking flight which was supposed to be around the world. Sadly, she never made it to her next stop for fuel. Her plane was never found and to this day the mystery of Amelia Earhart lives on. In this Webquest you will learn more about this groundbreaking pilot and following her path on the map you will create your own theory on what happened to her and her plane.
Task
‘The Case of the Missing Pilot’ has been cold for years. Detectives have searched every lead to try to find the missing Amelia Earhart, but she has never been found. As Chief of Police of the Classroom Police Department, I have decided to reopen the case and finally solve the mystery of Amelia Earhart’s disappearance. I have recruited you; the best and brightest ace detectives to solve the case. I am counting on you to help close the case for good! I have compiled a Web Quest that has all the evidence and information about Amelia Earhart that you will need to solve the case. Examine the evidence carefully. Once you’ve looked over the information and followed along on the map located under the resource tab, Write one page discussing your theory of what happened to the missing pilot and use the information you gathered to as evidence to support your case. The ‘Process’ tab will give you more details.

Steps
- Look over the information under the Credits tab and make sure to take notes!
- Analyze the information you gathered to see what connections you can make.
- State your initial theory and make sure you have enough evidence (try to have at least 3 different quotes, from the articles or video that back up your theory).
- Watch the video of how to properly site under the Credits tab.
- Write rough draft of your paper. You should have an introduction, body paragraph (with your 3 quotes), and a conclusion and a work cited page. (Include biographical information along with your theory).
- Reread your paper and have somebody else proofread it before making any final edits.
- Turn in your final draft to me!

Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed using or detective skills to solve the mystery.
