In this webquest we are going to dive into the mystery of the process of pyramid building. Using a reading from BBC online, we will be having a mini-literature circle. I will break you into groups and assign each of you a specific role to carry out. Then, you will combine each of your individual portions into one final report that you will turn in.

Task

I will assign each of you to a group of 4. Once you are in your groups, each of you will get assigned a role to play in a mini literature circle. I will pass out one copy of the article and you will have to carry out your individual roles. Look at process too see details or each role.

Article we will be using can be found HERE.

Process

Roles:
Reader- It is your job to read the article aloud to the group. Be sure to read the article slowly and thoroughly to ensure that everyone in your group gets all the information.
Recorder- You are responsible for recording your groups notes. Through discussion your group should come to consensus on what the article is about, who it is written for, why you think we are reading the article, and three interesting facts from the article
Illistrator- Your job is to draw a picture that represents what the article addresses. It could be a literal interpretation or a symbolic one.
Question Master- Think of 3 questions, with help from your group if needed, that you have after reading the article.

Once everyone had completed their portion, as a group you need to combine your parts into one cohesive project. This can mean stapling them together or combining them in some sort of creative medium like a collage or poster. Extra points can be awarded for creativity.

Evaluation
Conclusion

In addition to your individual parts, every member of the group will be expected to actively participate in the discussion and also fill out a group evaluation form as well. You will recieve a group grade on the final product you turn in a group, as well as a spereate grade for your portion of the group.
