Acceleration and Velocity

Introduction

Welcome to Your Quest!!

In the following webquest you will watch videos, answer questions, play a game, and complete a finial presentation of your learning.

Enjoy your journey and I can't wait to see what you have to show once you're done.

May the Force Be with You!

Task

Task #1

Complete the handout you picked up on the way into the classroom. This is a KWLA chart (What you KNOW, What you WANT to know, What you LEARNED, and how you will APPLY this) at the end of this webquest you will fill out the L and A pieces of your table.

Task #2

Watch the following video to gain a general understanding of acceleration and velocity.

Task #4

Play the following game:

While playing, attempt to make the initial graph that you are given by adjusting the initial speed, acceleration, and breaking speed. After each attempt, write your information onto a piece of paper in order to help you through the process.

Evaluation

WELL DONE!!!!

You have completed your quest.

Now show what you have learned.

Teacher Page

This webquest is designed to have students explore content around the following NGSS for Middle School:

MS-PS2-1. Apply Newton’s Third Law to design a solution to a problem involving the motion of two colliding objects

After completing the series of tasks, students should have enough of a base understanding in order to begin exploring Newton's Laws of Motion. Understanding how an object accelerates, velocity, and force, these laws should be more accessible to them.
