Introduction
In this Webquest, you will learn more about figurative language. You are specifically going to be able to differentiate assonance and alliteration as well as label examples and utilize this in your writing.
Do you already know what assonance and alliteration are?
Task
- We will master the use of alliteration and assonance
- You will keep note of everything you learn in your interactive notebook (Your notes will be taken for a grade)
- You will take the assessment with at least 75% accuracy
- Your final project will be an original poem/story/song using examples of alliteration and assonance
Process
In your notebook:
- Define alliteration and assonance
- Find examples of alliteration and assonance in pieces of literature we have gone over in class
- Create your own examples of figurative language
For your assessment:
- You will have 10 multiple-choice questions
- You will have 10 matching questions
When writing your poem/story/song/etc.:
- Use at least 2 examples of alliteration
- Use at least 2 examples of assonance
- Turned in by the due date
- Little to no extra grammatical errors
