Task

First, ask yourself, "what is my purpose for writing?" To entertain? To inform? To persuade?

Next, decide what type of writing is appropriate for your purpose:

  • Narrative (personal story)
  • Opinion
  • Expository (give real world information)
  • Comparison writing (similarities and differences)
  • Other: peom, letter...

Finally, use these sententence starters (or your own!) to ensure a strong paragrah. It will have a clear topic sentence(s) that states your main idea, three to six supporting detail sentences, and a conclusion sentence(s) that restates your main idea. Use the guide in the next section to help you.

(Example Paragraph)

                                                                                     School is Ending

I see that school is ending and all the students are sad. I will miss school very very very much. One reason I don't like school to end is that I don't see my friends and teachers. For example, we don't have zoom together when school ends. On Zoom, we have fun learning together. We chat and watch videos and we enjoy our time together. So in conclusion, all kids are sad that school is ending because everybody likes their friends and their teachers.
